This is my submission to the s740 Public Inquiry into the Glasshouse.

Extracts from my Submission
My central message is simply this: that there is no substantive justification for recommending to the Minister that all civic officers at Port Macquarie-Hastings Council should be declared vacant.
My basis for saying that the dismissal of the Council is not warranted is that there has not been a single substantiated instance of any maladministration, corruption or impropriety.
With the benefit of hindsight, knowing what I know now and taking everything into consideration, I would with full confidence still support the Glasshouse in its current location and at the current cost.
There is no benefit to be gained by this community by the loss of democratic representation. No laws have been broken. There is no corruption or misappropriation or impropriety.
Regardless of the result, in five years time the community will appreciate that this Council had the vision and courage to provide a high quality auditorium and gallery that will be enjoyed for generations to come.
